Episode 030: His Mercy Endures Forever (Mass Readings for Apr. 19, 2020)
Episode Summary
Jesus appears to the disciples in our Gospel today. Not bringing vengeance or even guilt, his first concern is to bestow peace upon the Twelve. He breathes on them reminding us of the creation of the first man in Genesis and in so doing bestows the gift of the Holy Spirit and deputizes the act of forgiveness through the institution of the sacrament of confession. Read every year on Divine Mercy Sunday, this beautiful Gospel serves as a pledge of God’s love and mercy should we only trust in Him.
